  • Comment: Edyvane & Womersley 1994:301 indicates this name is a heterotypic synonym of G. densa but it may be a nomen dubium (see also p. 303). Setchell & Gardner 1934 Revue Algologique 7:135 provide notes from the Zanardini collection which indicate that this name was thought to represent a juvenille of G. congesta Zanardini.
